Organizing team


                                                      
The 2011 edition of the Caribbean Heritage Course in Curacao was organized by a project team, consisting of local professionals in the fields of conservation and heritage management, architecture, education and marketing & communication.

 
                                                        

Cees van de Sande - Project owner 

Cees van de Sande is an associate professor at the department of Architecture and Urban Development of the University of the Netherlands Antilles (Faculty of Technical Sciences). Cees is an experienced urban developer and one of the founders of the successful local heritage course "Education in heritage", together with representatives of the local Monument Fund and the govermental Department of Urban and Regional Development, Planning and Housing.

Zarja Rojer - Co-project owner

Zarja Rojer is an architect and associate professor at the department of Architecture and Urban Development of the University of the Netherlands Antilles (Faculty of Engineering). Zarja has guided several interventions in the world heritage inner city and coordinates the short local heritage course "Education in heritage", together with representatives of the local Monument Fund and the govermental Department of Urban and Regional Development, Planning and Housing.

Michael Newton - Project co-ordinator

Michael Newton is a conservation architect at the Curacao Monuments Fund Foundation. Michael is specialized in the conservation of heritage and is one of the co-founders of the "Education in heritage" course, together with representatives of the University of the Netherlands Antilles (UNA) and the govermental Department of Urban and Regional Development, Planning and Housing.

 
 
                                                        

Gerda Gehlen - Project member

Gerda Gehlen is a division head at the Monument Bureau of Curaçao's governmental Department of Urban and Regional Development, Planning and Housing. Gerda is well-known as one the local heritage specialists and co-founded the successful local heritage course "Education in heritage", with representatives of the local Monument Fund and the University of the Netherlands Antilles (UNA).

 
                                                        

Lyongo Juliana - Project member

Lyongo Juliana is an architect and associate professor at the department of Architectural and Civil engineering of the University of the Netherlands Antilles (Faculty of Technical Sciences). Lyongo is specialized in designing (modern buildings) within a monumental context and is a co-founder of the"Education in heritage" course, together with representatives of the local Monument Fund and the govermental Department of Urban and Regional Development, Planning and Housing.

Ivette is the owner and manager of Mosaic Marketing & Communication, specialized in the coordination of marketing projects, marketing support, media advice, planning and booking.
